Arroz 80 CA is a Group 2 herbicide containing 80.0% Bispyribac-sodium. It is designed specifically for use on rice in California only. This product acts as a postemergence herbicide that controls selected weeds by inhibiting the ALS (acetolactate synthase) enzyme. Because it is a contact herbicide with no systemic activity, weeds must be fully and completely covered during application to ensure effectiveness; otherwise, weed regrowth may occur. It can be applied via aircraft (with a total spray volume of 10 gallons or greater) or by ground equipment (with a total spray volume of 15 to 25 gallons or greater). Users should be mindful of spray drift, especially in windy conditions, and follow specific buffer zone requirements for different application types and locations. The label emphasizes the importance of droplet size and nozzle selection to maximize coverage and minimize drift. Note that this product is toxic to non-target plants and should not be applied directly to water or areas where surface water is present.
