Deadline M-Ps Mini-Pellets is a specialized pesticide designed for use on clover and small seeded vegetable crops grown for seed within the state of Oregon. The active ingredient is Metaldehyde (2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl- 1,3,5,7-Tetraoxycyclooctane) at a concentration of 4.0%. This product is specifically formulated to control slugs and snails. It is applied as a soil surface treatment, which can be broadcast using air or ground equipment. For optimal results, application is recommended in the evening and is especially beneficial if applied following rain or watering. Users must not irrigate the treated area for 48 hours after application. This product is highly toxic to mollusks (such as clams, oysters, scallops, and mussels) and should not be applied directly to water or areas where surface water is present or near high mean water marks. It is also toxic to birds and mammals. When handling, ensure granules on the soil surface are covered or any spilled material is cleaned up to prevent hazards to terrestrial wildlife. Because this pesticide is used on crops grown for seed, specific restrictions apply: the product has not established a pesticide residue tolerance for these crops, meaning no portion of the seed may be used or distributed for food or feed for one year (365 days) after the last application. Any seed treated must carry specific and conspicuous container labeling regarding these restrictions.
